ARTICLE 01

Which banks does Clarity Books support?

We support 12,000+ U.S. financial institutions through Plaid — every major bank (Chase, Bank of America, Wells Fargo, Capital One, etc.), every major credit union, and most online banks (Mercury, Brex, Bluevine, Novo, etc.). If your bank shows up in the Plaid search, you're good.

ARTICLE 02

My bank isn't showing up. What do I do?

First, search by the exact institution name as it appears on your debit card or statement (Plaid sometimes lists banks under their parent company). If it's genuinely not there, email brayden@claritybooksai.com — we can add CSV upload as a fallback so you don't have to wait.

ARTICLE 03

Why did my bank get disconnected?

Most commonly: your bank rotated your password, you turned on two-factor authentication, or Plaid's connection token expired (usually after 90 days for some banks). You'll see a yellow banner on the dashboard with a "Reconnect" button — clicking it opens Plaid to refresh the connection in 30 seconds.

ARTICLE 04

Can I connect more than one bank account?

Yes — connect as many as you need. A common setup is one business checking, one business savings, one business credit card, and a personal account if you sometimes pay business expenses out of pocket (we'll let you mark those as Owner Reimbursement).

ARTICLE 05

How do I remove a bank account?

Go to Banking → click the three-dot menu next to the account → Remove. Removing the connection stops new transactions from importing, but historical transactions stay in your books unless you also delete them (which we'd recommend against — you may need them for taxes).

ARTICLE 06

Does Clarity Books pull personal transactions if I connect a personal account?

Yes — Plaid sends us everything in any account you connect. The AI tries to identify personal transactions automatically and tags them as Personal (excluded from books). If you accidentally connect a personal-only account, just remove it from Banking and we'll archive the imported data.

ARTICLE 07

How often do new transactions appear?

Plaid pings your bank roughly every 4–6 hours for most institutions. New transactions usually show up in Clarity within 12 hours of clearing your bank. Pending transactions are not imported until they post — this prevents duplicate entries.
